Hebridean Odyssey Cycle Thursday 19 - Tuesday 24 June 2008

Mon 30 Jun 2008

Good cycling weather, favourable winds, great group of participants, beautiful beaches and an abundance of wildlife ensured a great first Hebridean Odyssey Cycling Event. With participants in great form the 50 miles per day although tough, were completed in good time. The end of each day saw the cyclists stay in some great accommodation with super views and food to match and day light to well after 11pm. This could only be matched by participants having the opportunity to swim in the sea on Eriskay prior to boarding the ferry to Barra and cycling on the huge white beach in Barra which is also used as the runway for daily flights to and from the Island. All participants deserve congratulations for completing this truly challenging event. A new phrase was coined by our participants from South of the border “Scottish Undulation”. Have a look at the gallery pictures to get a feel of this event and the great time had by all. WELL DONE TO EVERYONE ON A FABULOUS EFFORT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
