On Saturday 21 May 21 participants scalled the dizzy heights of Ben Nevis, the UK's highest peak standing at 4,406ft in aid of the British Red Cross and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation as part of the £1m Wellington Appeal.

Everyone successfully completed the climb and have raised somewhere in excess of £45,000 from their participation on the challenge.

Sadly the weather was not great when the group started off from Achintee. There was light rain as they commenced their ascent however this deteriorated in the early afternoon with very strong winds and heavy rain.

Needless to say the group found time for a few celebratory drinks in the Ben Nevis Inn before heading back to the Hotel for a hot shower. In the evening everyone enjoyed a celebratory dinner and ceilidh despite a few aches and pains.
