West Highland Way 14 - 19 May 2011
Our annual open walk along the 95 mile West Highland Way from Milngavie on the outskirts of Glasgow to Fort William in the heart of the Scottish Highlands got underway on Saturday 14 May with 7 participants raising funds for a variety of good causes including Alzheimer’s Scotland, Epilepsy Action, St Mary’s Catholic Church and Manor House Care Home.
Sadly the weather was not at its best over the whole duration of the walk, in fact it’s without doubt the worst weather we’ve ever experienced on the walk in recent years, however this did not dampen spirits whatsoever and all participants successfully completed the walk.
Despite all the aches, pains, blisters and very wet clothes, everyone had a great time and are to be congratulated on such a magnificent effort in the most appalling of conditions.
Well done.
