Zanzibar - The Road To Zanzibar

Country - Zanzibar

The Makunduchi Project would like to invite you on this
amazing 10 day cycle around the Spice Island of Zanzibar. To make this possible we have teamed up with event organisers

Charitytrek who will accompany the group to Zanzibar and
bring you an experience that will stay in the forefront of
your memories for the rest of your days.

Zanzibar (also known as The Spice Island) is one of those
magical African words that conjures up wonderful romantic
images for reasons not fully understood. The monsoon winds that blow ceaselessly across the Indian Ocean, have ensured ongoing contact between Persia, Arabia, India and the coast of east Africa for over 2,000 years, endowing it with a rich history and a cultural diversity to be envied. The Portuguese were early settlers, followed by the Omani Arabs and later in 1890, it became a British Protectorate, but was granted independence in 1963.
